I have been shopping around for some new tail lights ever since Benny got some new assemblies for his sedan, but unfortunately new coupe ones have been NLA for some time & we even checked the source in Japan. No stock.

Fortunately these ones showed up in the UK & the other bidders from The UK, The Netherlands & Germany simply weren't serious, so they went for a very realistic price.
You can't win 'em all, but sometimes, ... just sometimes, the gods smile upon me.

I was really lucky as an overseas member had sent me a link to an original 70's race type mechanical fuel injection manifold for the A series. [See pictures below]
I checked 'sellers other items' & BINGO, I saw the tail lights [first post]. I made no mention of my desire to bid on the lights & was almost facing competition from my informant friend, but he chose not to bid at the last minute. Whew.
Thank you once again Matt

This is the MFI manifold, just to satisfy your curiosity & it sold for a little under $500 Aus to a buyer in Portugal.

Dundee.
The MFI manifold in the photo's went to Portugal. It could be converted to EFI, but it's not really suited to street use regardless of how the fuel gets squirted in.

I do have factory EFI but the final configuration is not yet set in concrete.

Those were my auctions and your lights are on the way Dodgeman! I was hoarding these for fixing up another 1200 coupe and I did manage to find a car but decided to was too rough and to just concentrate on doing my ute instead. I think I have a couple more but only one side.

That intake is an exotic piece but as you say, not much good for street use. It won't be hard to adapt it to EFI but it really is a race only item. I'll never build a race A series so no need to hang onto it.

Thanks Eddie.
Thanks for buying them in the first place, thanks for storing them & thanks for releasing them into the market when you did. The timing was really good & yes, I knew it was your auction & wondered why you were releasing them. Now we know.
Benny & I had tried hard to source some a little while back, but even going through Japan, using a back door to the domestic parts system drew a blank. All we got was NLA. NLA. NLA.

Trust me whan I say that I thought about the manifold & how to make it work on a street engine, but in the end it needs intake trumpets without filtration to look right & work as it was designed to work.
Australia is one of the dustier countries on the planet & I have absolutely no desire to see my expensive engine chewed up just so I can go deaf with induction roar & for the occasional 'wow' when the bonnet is opened, so I passed on it.

It was also considered for a race engine [not mine] that's currently in development, but the Portugese buyer was more determined than we could afford to be.
