So, I had a fire in the house and smoke damage throughout but not in the garage.
Cleaners took all my 1200 trim out of the garage to trash. Won't know til Monday if they still have my stuff. They were told NOT to take anything out of the garage. Stupid ingorant nimrod morons.

Sook (rant) over.

Sorry to hear that, I hope everyone is OK as well.

Was this your new house or old one & how bads the damage?

I'd be pissed too, send them an exorbitant bill for all the parts.

Hang in there.

Bad news - my condolences...

On a lighter note - only a true Datto fan has his house burn and is only concerned of the well being of the precious garage contents

Thanks for all the comments. Now that my head is on straight....no one was hurt in the fire and the dogs escaped through the doggie door, so all is good there.

The parts went to the dump on Friday, so they are gone for good. Did you know the the actual retail value of front & rear bumper and headlight and grille surround is #1083.43. Too bad its not readily available.

Poop........

Why did they disobey a direct & specific directive from you to NOT take anything from the garage? Why would they take metal items that were not damaged by fire or smoke from the garage & dump it?

I'd be inclined to demand that they find & supply the replacement parts. This is when they realise that buying the stuff is the easy & cheap part. Finding it can be the hard, time consuming & expensive part.

Sorry to hear about the fire, at least everyone including the dogs are ok. Where did you find out the retail values from? I was freighting parts over from perth and they asked me how much they were worth and I was like Ummmm..... its just impossible to tell what things are worth besides what someone will pay...

Gross miscommunication were the words I used when the manager said he didn't know how that happened.
I am leaning towards your thinking as to them finding the parts as it took me around half an hour just to look them up and get pricing(that was the easy part). I could probably spend more of their money by making them locate them.
HMMMMM...........
edit: the above response was for dodgeman.
edit#2: For Mitch....Thanks
I am a parts manager at a Nissan Dealer, so looking up the parts was not too much of a worry. The bad part is that 90% are no longer available.
