My coupe is 800KG, I still run all the street gear (I like the look) but that is only about 20 kilos.......most of the gain was the roll cage. The 1.75 inch tube .125 thick with 3 door bars each side and a couple of extra diagonals tend to add up. Not to mention the 280ZX struts and brakes are quite a bit heavier than the stock struts.
Last year I added up what it would take to drop 50-75 kilos and it would be several hundred bucks.

Bumping up an old thread I came across in a search.

For interest I thought I would add that my '78 120Y 4dr is 1060kg with:

CA18DET & 5 speed
3" exhaust
FMIC (not huge, not tiny)
stock diff
15" steelies
two 14" steel spares/tyres in the boot
all fluids including half a tank of fuel

I'm thinking that the friend I build for my 120Y will be somewhat more minimalist.

Yes, 1060 kg is fairly heavy B210. It's why the B110/B120 is preferred at only 760 kg.

I think you would be surprised mate, a lot of that weight comes from going from a little 1.2lt A-series motor & little box to a 1.8lt engine, twincam head, turbo, bigger brakes, full 3" exhaust, intercooler and the extra piping etc.

Also that 1060kg is including driver so you're talking maybe 970kg... which means that all those mods have only added 175kg which is the same amount you'd expect the same mods to add to (eg) a 1200.

A 1200 will still be ahead but not by much!!

I keep forgetting a 120Y is near the same weight as a 1200. Unfortunately in my country all B210s are very heavy with HD suspension, 50-pound bumpers, and A14 engines and 60 or 63 series transmissions.
