The price is about right. Most places I've dealt with would charge $10k plus for the work you're talking about. One place I used to work next door to quoted me $10k, but had lifetime warranty on their work, a big call and a big advantage.

These same dude's also talked me into teaching myself to spray paint and save myself a ####load.

yeah 12gs sounds fair for that amount of work, one of my mates does custom paint jobs and he charges 6gs for closed bonnet respray (as in not painting engine bay)

I'll second what Pendles said because thats exactly what I'm doing.

Bought a mig, paint guns, body tools, some pretty cools ones BTW, spent a great deal of time learning about painting & all thats involved & in the end I'll of done it all, good or bad I'll of learned something.

check out this forum - an amazing wealth of information.

8K quote made the decision for me. If you have the time, basic skills & inclination it's quite rewarding to turn out your own project.

Or go the true Datsun tightarse way and paint it with a paintbrush and roller with boat paint.

It's a long read.

If you decide to go ahead and spend the money on the respray I would suggest going and seeing some other places for an opinion and to compare their work etc. That way you are getting the most out of your money.

Will he get the same result as your orange 2 door sedan? Bargain. Will you throw in a shovel and road kill snake as well?
