i got a 5-speed a while ago and cleaned it up tonight to see which one it is exactly

i cant find any obvious markings that tell me

all i could find was a "7" on either side of the centre section and a "1" just near where the reverse light switch thingy screws in, then etched into the top on the flange "18"

could be dogleg pattern not sure

does anyone know which box it might be???

1:1? 60a?

i dunno???

sorry yeah i got it off the back of an a-12, seems to have standard rear crossmember on it and it came out of a manual tunnel

i havent tried a tailshaft yet, but had thought of that

not sure of length

it was a 120y a-12 and also had 120y borg warner diff in car

i didn't get the tailshaft, hopefully i dont need it

the tech section mentions a 120y one

Quote:
This means the 1974-1978 B210 (120Y)

but i dont think that was an aussie option (article written by someone in US)

I've played around with 120Y stuff a long time in the past, but I didn't think they had a 5 speed either. It might have been an import Option. Only reason I say that is the 200Bs of a similar vintage had variations in brakes etc, as they were assembled here and overseas. We once discussed the "local content" laws for car manufacturers, that meant if they wanted to assemble here, they had to use a percentage of Australian made parts. So my long buy short answer is that I don't know.

Please get some "white-out" (tippex) and mark the output shaft across a radius. Push a clutch plate over the inputshaft and mark it too..If it's still connected to the flywheel, use the whole flywheel. Put it in first gear and turn the flywheel 10 times, counting the output shaft revolutions. Do this for each gear, but most importantly do it for 5th gear. This will give us an idea of what box it is based on the ratio of 5th.

Chris
