Sounds like your car has a few gremlins!!

Splash your car with water and see if it multiplies...teehee

The old 1200's have some drama's with melting out the plastic in the fuse box's. It may be alot simpler, Make sure the battery is o.k and that the alternator is supplying enough voltage and amps to run the car.

Good luck with the gremlins. If the car does multiply thenat least you will have some spares!

Hi bailz, these problem can be caused by many things. So there is no one simple answer to fix it. It will take some patience, and methodical approach to finding the cause. The fix will be easy once the cause is understood.

For the "headlights and indicators arent working", first check the fusebox as rh1 suggested. A fuse may be blown (headlights and Turn/Signal I think are separate fuses) or the fuse terminals may be bad. After that, check the ground/earth wire. The battery cable should be connected directly to the 1200 body AND to the engine block. Run a new earth if that isn't happening. Next check the bulbs themselves. Maybe they are burnt out. Finally go through all the circuit parts (wires, switches, connectors etc) until the problem is found.

For the stalling and "quite hard 2 start", do a complete tuneup, starting with (as usual for a yearly tuneup) a headbolt re-torque, valve adjustment, compression check, etc. etc. I suggest buying new points/condensor but not buying any new plugs/wires/cap/rotor unless inspection shows they are definitely bad. Part of the tuneup should be a close inspection of the vacuum hoses and vacuum motors on the carburetor. For details on Tune-up, see your Nissan Factory Service Manual, your Gregory's or other repair book, or for an overview see here: Tune-up
