Just a question or two about ALT wiring. (Looking at the pics below)

1. The white wire out of the plug goes to that post - which in turn goes to the +ve battery terminal via a 15A fuseable link. - Is that correct?

2. Does the 1200 have such a fuseable link in the fuse box - or should I just get an inline fuse plug to run between ALT and starter 12V+ve?

3. The little white/red wire out of that plug goes to the CHG light bulb in the 1200 dash (I've heard it is also white/red in the 1200 loom but haven't checked that) - So far so good?

4. The post to the left of the plug in photo 1 is earthed to the body - Touchdown?

So here is the alternator

Here's the overview wiring diagram - it shows that the postive wire goes through a 15 Amp fuse then into the +ve terminal of the battery.

Here's the more detailed wiring diagram

I thought I saw on a CA fuse box though that the Alternator has a 75Amp fuse....am I getting confused or is the wiring diagram a contradiction?

Went digging through the spare parts tonight - found a whole box full of wires that I hadn't looked in for a while.....it contained a CA18DET fuse box!

Looks like the Alt fuseable link is 75Amps

Now I just have to think up a good way to mount it in between the ALT +12V and the starter motor +12V Battery post. They are pretty close together - and this fuseable link is pretty big.

I used that CA fuse box, which is mounted in the engine bay as you also need eng cont fusable link and a few of the relays if you use standard ecu.

Just joined the 1200 main wire (think from memory was white) inside the fuse box.

Hmm OK

So what is eng cont? Engine continuity?

I've got a custom loom with a few relays on it - and didn't think I'd need this fuse box...but maybe I need some of the fuseable links. Unfortunately the workshop manual doesn't seem to label them...at least not that I can find - this is the best I found.

I chopped up the standard loom and made my own, except it took me about 3 months work of weekends.

I have retained (without looking at car) ignition coil and eccs relays and fusable links. These feed injectors, ballast resitor, coils and comp.
It is in the service manual for s13, but the layout in the cct is a bit of a dogs breakfast.

Have got notes and circuit of it that I drew for future reference. But its with the car in dads shed. So cant easily check

Also eng cont is a fusable link that from memory feeds the eccs relay.
