You know, I do work for the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad! I wonder if I could find a set of those laying around?

Jaime, ever since my old laptop died a few months ago I've been lurking on this site. I do stop in every morning to see what's up. I just haven't been posting.

As for the long pipes and such, I placed the turbo on the opposite side for a few reasons. First of all, if it is hidden down below the manifolds, no one goes "ooh!" whe the hood opens. Also, there just isn't a whole bunch of room over there and it gets kind of "busy" with all of that hardware. I'm sure I had others, I just don't remember them right now.
My theory on the long pipes is as follows, the dreaded "W" word (Subaru WRX) has very long runners from the heads to the turbo and they won several WRC championships. I feel that once the engine is up and running, there is always going to be a goodly quantity of gas flowing through the pipes. I'm using a smallish turbo so the spool up should be fine. It won't make the most top end power, but I'm not looking for maximum power or I wouldn't be starting with a A-12! Not bashing A-series engines, I love them. Just being realistic about max power potential.
Then again, I could be dead wrong with all of my thoeries and it will be a slow turd. But it will be my slow turd dag-nabbit!

When I was a kid, we had a '65 Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon. My older brother put these incredibly loud air horn on it (which he said came from a train). When Mom honked the horn, people moved out of the way! ah, the good 'ol days.

Hi no, the picture needs to be on the Internet somewhere before you can link to it.

Our wagon was a beige '65 which had multiple round tail lights (classic Chevy style) I guess that's why I have a soft sport for wagons. Ah, I can still remember that "old car smell". After that we got a '69 LTD and I've been a Ford fan ever since ... that was before small cars so to speak.

Sorry to bunny this post, but those air horns got me thinkin ...

In typical Dimlight Racing fashion, as soon as pictures of a project get posted, I sell it. I guess I shouldn't have brought this post back to the top then. Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. Oh well, the car in the pictures has been sold. Hopefully he'll join the club and keep us posted on what's going on with it.

Before you ask, yeah, I'll probably keep the horns for something.

God, already sold! I've been trying to gather all the parts for the turbo on my Datsun too. I need to learn how to weld first off, because I don't know anywhere I can go here in Japan to get the intercooler and exhaust piping done up. I'm just about ready to put the fuel injection on, but I need to get a larger (1/2")fuel outlet welded onto the gas tank first. The other thing that is holding me up is that I need a M14 x 1.5 metric tap that I haven't been able to find here in Japan for the air temp sensor. I've got the coolant temp sensor, throttle positioning sensor, O2 sensor and everything else mounted and ready to go. I'm going to run NA with the EFI for a while so I can figure out how to work/tune the Haltech. Whenever I can figure out how I'm going to get the turbo welded all up, all I'll need is some Turbo 280ZX injectors and maybe an adjustable fuel pressure regulator....along with all the stupid intercooler piping/connectors. Sooo two things holding me up: 1/2" fuel tank outlet, and M14 X 1.5 tap....that's it for now.

I'm using the factory A series EFI setup with larger throttle body, Haltech F-10A, and 280ZX turbo fuel pump. The turbo is a IHI RHB5 VF turbo from a 87 Subaru GL-10, and the intercooler is from a 96 Ford Probe GT. I'm using the stock injectors and pressure regulator for now, probably will max them out without the turbo. Finally got my Dellorto's running decent though....finally got them to redline through all gears. Gets to 60mph in 7 seconds now...not bad!
