Just a little update...
Not a whole lot has gone on to my frustration, have been too busy with work. Not having the car at home makes it a bit hard to just pop out and do a couple of little things here & there. May look at bringing her home when some of the major work is finished..

Well, I did spend some cash and get some parts sent to me...

They are the maddat items- 280mm S4 rx7 items. Have gone the alloy hubs, with lowered struts. Will hopefully be enough to shed some top-end speed :)
Will update as I can, and some more things get done...

Hmmm, master cylinder.. I think I used a 240Z item when I had Stanza brakes on the old Sunny. Maybe S13, really have to take a good look at these sorts of things soon, also the clutch.

I did get some work done last weekend on the seat reinforcing..

I had some metal bent to my alloy templates (top left), and then used some alloy flashing to get a basic guideline for cutting the steel.

A pic of the back, after quite some time with a grinder and a dremel...

Bit of a crappy pic, but this is after taking some of the top off. Will weld these two pieces in & then put some 'capping' over the top to link it all back together. Not sure if I'm doing it right, but the strength should be there when it's all done.

Friday the car is getting taken away to get the intercooler & radiator sized up. Again, probably not the best order to do things.. But, I want to make sure it fits with the battery in the standard position and the A/C condensor. If things need to move, I will concede, but the plan is to give no indication of what's under the hood, i.e. no battery/surge tank etc. in the boot.. we'll see :)

i like the reinforcement idea man. it s cool. if it was for us we will weld 1/2 an inch leave a space of 1 inch and make a half an inchin again from both sides so that the weld would not be too hard and the car can woble. (sry if i am not saying it the right way)

u can do things in any order u think it is the best way.

^^^I get what you mean ;)

Have finally brought the 310 back to my place. I have a number of fiddly jobs to do, so no use having it 30mins away when I may only work on it for a few hrs at a time. Made quick work of cleaning the shed out, not having her out in the weather any more!

A few things have been done to her. Still working on the reinforcing of the tunnel, progress is slow with being busy at work, so have been getting the big jobs out the way first.. like radiator & intercooler.

Here's a front shot, A/C condensor will be the only thing visible through the grill ;) True sleeper style

Had issues with the fact I wanted A/C, hmmm, expected that... basically couldn't fit the radiator & IC behind each other if I wanted fans. Which being a street car is pretty much not an option. What I ended up with is the radiator on top of the IC. Fans will also have to run with the A/C as there is no room for another one! Would have liked a bigger core on the IC, but hopefully this will do the job. Will be setting up a water spray on to it, and see how things go. hopefully won't have to revisit this. Being a relatively standard motor it should be all good...

Also I have got myself a R31 LSD, so will be ripping the old diff out and in 3-4 weeks should be getting that back in. Woohoo, progress :)

just an idea. isn't it more practical to put the fans on the front to increase the space between the radiator and engine

If I put them in front there will be less space between rad & engine.. If you mean behind the grill, the A/C condensor is there. Only place fans can go is behind the radiator.

this is how we normaly do it in malta when there is no space between the radiator and engine. the yellow is the radiator the green ac condenser and the blue are the fans. the blue fan fitted on the ac condenser is trigered by the ac switch and the radiator fan is most of the time bigger than that of the ac

That could work but I have no issues with the fans where they are. If belts etc. need to be replaced, radiator & IC can come out, no biggie. Fans won't fit in front of the A/C condensor without destroying the grill.
Next issues to tackle are the clutch and fuel system..
