ok well everytime i talk about the 210 I debate the engine choice im trying to make..

SR20Det or A15

I know the two are worlds apart from each other which is why i think im having trouble deciding

Basically ive come up with pro and cons with both but im torn between two lovers!!!

Can anyone help me?

Thing that turns me off SR is the engine is not the end of it, its gearbox (will it be too close to handbrake) , diff ( which and how ) rear brakes ( drums to discs ? )

Think thats why a go back to the a15 with twin webber setup, outside will be period why not the engine?

SR, really wanna put a ikeya formula sequential on it............SWEET!

So what do you think??

L series, half way inbetween, can use mostly 180b stuf for straight bolt into a 120y, even the trans mounts are in the correct spot.

L18 or L20, you will be laughing. only thing with 180b x member is you will have more bump steer, other wise mod your 120y x member to take the L series mounts.

you could always bolt the 180b stuff in while modding a 120y xmember.
easier then a 1200 thats for hell sure.

a stock ish L18 or l20 will cr@p all over the proposed a15 but not as fast as the sr20de or det.

my 2cents, you can give me change if you like (joke)

Picking up motor tomorrow

Can anyone give me a list (if possible) what diff i could/should use ?

Was going to use dr30 stumpy box , does this fit standard gearbox hole without mods??

other obvious option is standard sr20 box, just prefer no to have selector back any further..

Well its been a busy week,

Removed all running gear, engine, gearbox, crossmember and so on aswell as front fenders. Happy to find no rust just lots of body deadener. Started stripping the deadener off and boy thats fun.

Going to paint the inner guards "Battleship grey" along with the engine bay. Plan is to paint all that then put car back running sort ot bugs then get car resprayed down the track. That way i figure ive pre fitted everything.

Dropped off my loom and computer today to be converted. Hopefully it'll be back in a couple of weeks already to plug in and fire up.

Putting in a diagnostic port and a ecu speed sensor bypass which should get rid of some idle problems first up, also means I can keep standard gauges!

Just need to find a nice place to mount ecu......hmmmm

Almost finished stripping deadener from wheel arches, should be able to paint on the weekend.

Thinking about just biting the bullet and putting long box in (s15) just dont wanna be changing gears around my waist! The conversion would also call for shortening handbrake lever or moving it to make it look natural in the cabin (imo ). Hard to find examples of sr's in b210s

hhhmmmm......... "My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought, cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives."
