ok so i had a new idea for the fuel system, as the coupe tank is so low and there is no firewall to seperate the boot. It is extremely difficult to do a fuel system install anywhere in the rea half of the car.
so i decided to fit it all in the engine bay, hard to make it look pretty in there, but a lot more practicle and safe than other places
here's where im at so far

first i cut the battery tray out as i will get a dry cell batterey which is safe to mount in cabin...boot
i bought the square surge tank and have mounted a vl pump down at the chassis rail, i relocated the low pressure filter to the strut tower with a spare filter clip thing from another shell. then put the high pressure filter where the stock filter goes
there is an electric pump under the back corner of the car (which has been there since i got it) which is convenient for my lift pump
this is the tidiest way i could come up with at this stage, only real hurdle i discovered was with the return line for the surge to fuel tank exiting the bottom of the surge tank. To over come this i have run that rubber line for the return up to a height above the surge tank, therefore it will only return after the surge tank is overfull anyway

still need to add some fastener loops to the hose to prevent rubbing and stuff but im quite happy with what i acheived here
