Leigh,

Pretty sure the chambers and everything are pretty similar to that of the GX head. I'll scan the H89 and overlay the shim drawing to check clearances. I'll probably open up the bores a bit as well, what sort of diameter would you prefer? 79mm, 80mm etc?

Keep in mind that the stock gasket on top of the head shim will probably measure about 3.5mm, otherwise order a smaller shim as well and double the two up? i.e 2 x 2mm shims to make 4mm.

Chris

No worries Danny boy.

Give me a buzz in the morning, we'll get those seat rails sorted.

Cheers.

I intend to seal the gasket to the head using a compound suggested by Lemonhead.

Compound is "3M product is 'Threebond liquid gasket black' part no.(?) 1207B", I'm not after it specifically but something that does the same job.

Then I'll put a material gasket on the top or use the sealant again and put the head straight on.

Depending on whether the shims need to be milled flat after being laser cut, I may look into simply cutting 6mm thick shims that people can cut down to their preferred thicknesses.

Copper cannot be cut with a laser so I'm looking some alternatives, in the meantime though I do not see myself being able to supply copper shims.

I will arrange to get mine collected this week and I'll confirm whether they'll need surface milling or not.
