hi all,

My name is Brandon i live in Washington state. I have been looking for an older rwd nissan or datsun car for a while now. I had thought originally I was going to try and pick up at 510. however as those were extremely hard to come by for a decent price in my area i decided the next best thing, for me a 1200 or(sunny) was it. close in looks and rwd. i picked up a complete project car from a guy in my area. he came up on hard times and needed money to pay a few bills. I almost feel embarrassed to state how much i paid for it be here it goes. I pick my 1200 up for $100 usd. i am now in the process of trying to find a better newer fuel injection engine to swap in. i wanted to know some viable options that you have either seen or done. im looking a t ga16de out of a 94 sentra. would that be a good one to do. i guess any help would be very appreciated. i will upload later some photos of what color i would like to paint mine.

oh by the way it has some body rust in the usual places such as floor boars and front inner wheel wells and rear fender arches. the a12 motor runs and has had a little work done to it updated top end and a few other mods. I dont think i will get rid of the original motor just yet as i have not source a viable replacement and dont know how power the a12 can be made to be. so again any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to see it go to a good home. These cars are basic to work and and a lot of fun to run through the gears.

There are RWD GA16s, but most are FWD. Some are not gutless, but have 110 HP.

I'd rather go for the QG16DE engine then. They have much better port designs, and are also lean burn motors, meaning they have stronger pistons and rods. Friend has one with a TF035 Mitshubishi turbo on which he boosts around 0.7 bar. Making 168kw and 280nm, and he's been driving it for 50000km now, no problems. no other modifications on the engine, still running the std 9.5:1 CR and injectors, he did fit a 5th injector though.
