Everyone, sorry the air outlets may cost more than I initially thought; read on:

I have a new design that is a one piece unit that will shed water almost as well as the recessed factory type, especially if you keep the openings fairly slim. Problem is this needs some manual work though so it may cost more than the initial price. Its tedious work with the hard stainless steel and one that I’m not keen on doing. We’ll have to see how it all goes, but if there are more costs, I'll have to pass those costs on.

The other designs are straight grills with no water proofing and they rely heavily on a baffle behind to shed the water, not the optimum arrangement especially when considering driving conditions.

The factory designs produce an extraction effect (looking closely at the design) as the angles ensure the air passing over carries the water with it.

What do you blokes think? (drawings are not to scale at all, just indicative of design)

Keen on a set of cowl vents possibly 2 sets. To seal the side vents for ute isnt just about the design it also comes down to using a sealant the same as you would for tail lights, chrome strips, badges. Panel beater supplies sell some good sealants for this job among other places.

Please put me down for:
1 pair Datsun 1200 cowl grilles and
1 Datsun 1000 cowl grille.
