If you could get some advice of an engineering friend that would be good. I'm yet to call anyone that could do the job.

Next time I see him I will ask, Prob be a couple of weeks yet.

I think I know how to build a custom rod.
Just a thick bar with a hole in both ends to wind a track rod end into and a sleve welded on both ends to attach a rose joint.

I drew a quick diagram of what I am thinking.

Looks like Datzon has solved this one for us.
His thread with reconditioned track rod.
Thank you Datzon.

I sent Mad Dat an email asking if they can reco my track rod, they replyed with...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Ashley

The price to recondition it depends on what condition it’s in. Usually it’s $70. If you post it to us we can confirm that on arrival. Don’t be in a hurry to post it, we are on hollies for two weeks. It will arrive safely, but we can’t work on it for a few days.

Post to: Lot 3 Cemetery Road, Scott Creek SA 5153 and include your details.

Cheers
