Hi all

have just dropped in my brand new A12 engine and have come across a problem. Their seems to be water leaking from between the gasket of the inlet manifold where it bolts onto the head. So ive tightened the bolts up and hasnt helped. Ive also taken the spark plugs out and turned it over to see if their is water in the cylinders and their doesnt appear to be. So this would rule out a cracked head? The only other thing i can think of would be a warped manifold?

any help appreciated
cheers brandon

As with any flange make sure the faces are clean and flat. (If you have a straight edge check it with that.) Also chech for any pitting corrosion.

If it's running an oval port head, have you plugged the holes?

Yep,that will be your problem as Clyons8 has suggested, the A15 oval port head has 3 exposed water galleries that are there to run water into the inlet manifold. If the wrong gasket is employed it will piss coolant out,so...either get the correct gasket or tap a thread in each hole and screw a plug in using a bit of lock tight.
I always do this as even with the correct gasket they sometimes leak,

Have fun
