That thing is rooted Brett (anything can be fixed but is it worth it?), back on topic.
I got to work on the project today, I made these for my race car originally and they were intended to look similar to the original but not a perfect copy, just quick and easy.
Heres a pic of mine (lower) and todays copy (upper) that is not finished:

hey nig they look pretty good you have done a good job champ.
If you can give me measurements and a few pics from different angles.
I just might be able to make a mould at work or even make a press mould so they can be made out of metal.... Tell me you think and maybe we can spend a day working this out. Could end up being a little project to remanufactor aftermarket cowl covers....

metal cowls that dont break- genius. you can use all those emoty vb cans nige has lying around. will be thicker guage metal than most datsuns have

Carps, I'm going off a copy of a copy so thats not a good start, if we can get an genuine set in almost any condition we should be able to do this. If you can make a mould that is problem solved, awesome money to make a mould though.

Thanks guys, as long as they are not needed anymore. I will use them as the mold and they will get thrashed.
Doesn't matter if they are cracked as I will reinforce them anyway.
