hi i have recently bought a datsun 120y it has a a12 engine and i had to replace the manifold heater box gasket so i took every thing out but know i cant seem to get the gasket from any auto part stores and also the carby base plate spacer thing i cant seem to find! any i deas were i can get these???

Also i have rebuilt the carby and i put the top body to the other part of the carby and it dosnt seem to sit flat you can clearly see light on the other side this was niot like this before i opened it it looks high were the screws go and lower in the middle soo confused! any ideas will be nice!

It comes in a "head set" -- as part of the manifold gasket set.

Yes, I have seen two warped carburetor tops on A-series cars. And they didn't work right. You might be able to mill it flat but you'd have to rebuild the power valve plunger. My advice is replace it. Just get another (better) used carburetor.

hi thanks for the reply i was thinking of filing it with a file. why would i need to rebuild the power valve just out of curiosity is this the one on the top cover with a spring in it how do you take it out i tried but couldnt what needs rebuilding in this item??

You can try a file, it didn't work for me.

Yes, the power valve rod is sticking down from the top with the spring. They often don't work anyways after 20 years. Be sure to test it, make sure it holds vacuum.

The power valve is in teh bottom of the carby. They don't usually go bad.

The rod works on vacuum, and can leak or bind. They aren't designed to be repaired. Instead you get a new top. Only $175.
