Yes, the camera has a wide angle, it gets nearly the whole dashboard in the picture. The 2010 Tachyon XC has a 90-degree field of view. The 2011 Tachyon XC HD has a "120° wide angle - Caputre more of the action than ever before, but without the extreme distortion that fish-eye lenses bring".

Also I notice it has a Depth of View that gets the dashboard in focus while at the same time it gets the outside in focus too.

for safety you just need a helmet, long sleeve shirt and long pants with closed shoes.
you also need a fire extinguisher and a seat belt or harness.

i was using a new camera this time. i tried a different setting each session and prefer
this setting so far.. although i think i can improve the light level inside the car.
sound is much better this time round though...

its the first session of the day where im finding my way around the track.
i wasnt on the race line into turn 1 trying to avoid the nasty bumps on the circuit.

i later gave in to that so i could get a better corner entry...

i run semi slicks on the track lethal_john

next track day will be wakefield at the nationals next month. cant wait!
winton in between is tempting but i'd rather save it for the nationals
rather than risk breaking it and missing out on a rare opportunity
to share the track with many a datsun
