But I like your enthusiasm saying 'keeping it close', But in order to do that you'd have to get out there and take your own car out and socialise... Doing it without the internet since Day 1.

No harm in asking I would have thought? Alot of my fave bike projects, classics I`ve restored with family 4 years along with plenty of rare auto parts getting stolen has made me a little weary. So its good to keep circles of enthusiast to even let you know if they see something what previously belonged to someone else.
As for the internet, have been doing that since before the internet was invented, you might forgotten that you where fooled when I told you Im in my early forties.
