bracing needed when cutting out tunnel??

quick question guys, is any type of structual bracing required when cutting out and changing the tunnel on and 1200 ute. dont want it to twist or bend. Ute's completely bare shell.

any advice appreciated

Firstly what motor and box are you going to run ?

Also have you chopped the tunnel out ?

ported and reconed h89 head
fairly aggro cam ,billet rocker spacers
twin 40mm solex carbs on bpro manifold
MSD 6al2 with 2 step limiter
4speed 60a box
hd clutch
2 inch exhaust
locked 4:11 ute diff

ca18det ca gear box, havent cut the tunnel out yet. the whole motor gearbox tunnel im using was already in a 1200 ute im just tranfering it into my ute

You dont need to chop the tunnel of a 1200 ute when using a ca18de ,iys a tighter fit but its doable ,just need to massage the tunnel near the seat rails

Its abit too much work realy just for abit of extra room around the box

fair enough thanks mate, still wanting to change the tunnel to the one i have ready to go in my concern was if i need to brace the cab/floor before i cut the old one out?

Always good practice to brace the floor when doing a chop like that. The windscreen in my coupe cracked when I cut my tunnel so since then I have always braced. A ute you can probably get away with it but why risk it for the sake of saving a few tack welds? :)
