Great project you have there dude, I've had heaps of fun in my datto over the last few years. It's always a good feeling to beat modern big dollar 4wd turbo cars in a 40 year old car running a live axle with leaf springs and an ohv non-crossflow engine.
Good luck with it.

Im not realy sure what the suspention settings are. it has a bit more camber and a bit more caster than standard. I will post them once its had a wheel alignment done. Got a n14 pulsar radatior and it fitts pretty good. Also gettin rid of the solid fan so got a 12 inch eletric fan and thermo switch.

Exciting stuff! I've been building my 1200 sedan track car for 5 years. I CAN'T wait till its going. I wish I'd done the same now, just did it in steps not went completely overboard like I did haha. I could have been racing years ago! looking forward to seeing how it goes
Do auckland cams have a good rep with A series cams? I checked out there website and some of the profiles look pretty good. I'd have thought you'd have gone with csl cams or kiwi cams? Being speedway capital of NZ i'd have thought those guys would know a thing or two about a series :D i've heard good things about franklins a series profiles too. So much choice haha

I have used Franklin Cams in my latest A series build and are really pleased with both the service and product. They are helpful, informative ( my followers were all worn out so Nissan SD23 were recommended and went straight in) and their cams performance is superb.

i'm quite a way off I need to get the shell going before I can even look at building the motor haha. Good to here some one backing up what i've heard about franklin. I was a little on the fence with them as they made a bit of a mare of the sr20ve cams I got.

I used Auckland camshafts after seeing an ad on trademe for camshafts wanted. I had a few old cams so I sent them up and they sent one back reground for under $100. My one is a copy of a reg cook grind with a bit more lift.

Went to manfeild today to the intermarque sprints. Took it easy on the practice run and did a 1,33.5 whitch was about my prevous best. The first race I was paired with a alfa (will try upload vid).On last lap car got a bit boggy and the died in the pits. Carb was over fueling an when I wiped the top off a float had come off so that was me. Did a 1,32.2 in that race but never had a clean lap with no traffic. Even tho it was cut short still had a good day.Out of 80 odd cars there was only a couple of datsuns a tidy 260c coupe a sunny and me.
