Both are good choices.

If you have more cash try some real flat slides FCR's or HSR's depending if you are a mikuni or Keihin man.

The ones you mentioned have a slide but they still run a throttle valve, I tried Keihin CVK's, bs34'S and the Kawasaki N Keihins.

The manifolds were crude* but still the performance was definitely noticeable. I'm just waiting on a better manifold to come back and I can fit them up again.

Bore spacing is somewhat relevant as this will affect flow, same with the angle the semi-downdraft ones offer an awesome approach angle but this can be ruined by the bore spacing (creating flow restrictions).

Here is an image that shows the angle do a search to find a few more.

EDIT*: By crude I meant the manifold I made for my Keihin Kwaka carbs not the stainless ones below that another member here made, those are fine.

all the bikes these come off have cross flow heads and the inlet ports further apart than our little power house A series, hence bore of the carb spacing. To run them too close to the head is going to make manifolding a poorly designed outcome with sharp bends, much like almost* every lynx carb manifold and those horrible twin dcoe onto round port head manifolds.

*yeah probly all lynx manifolds :P

Re Bore spacing you can get some that you can adjust in the rack, you can literally determine the spacing of the carbs (bore spacing) by making up a bracket suit and making longer/shorter fuel joiners that run between the carbs to make the fuel rail. Look in the pic below you can see one of the brackets across the front of the carbs.. Mine aren't here so I can't show pics but if it is at all possible get the carb set that have the spacing somewhat close to the port spacings of the head. If you can imagine looking at the carbs and head from above (plan view) the broader the carb bore spacing the more curved/angled the inlet runner has to be to suit, that curve/angle can be quite severe with semi-downdraft carbs (like the Keihins pictured above) because you can't get them in the air high enough to relieve that heavy curve/angle ( as they'll hit the bonnet).

Those carbs are NOS, price tag of about $1500.00 from a shop. I got them for quite cheap (1/5th of that).

Ebay US is the best place to get them but some good sets come up in Aus. These are BS34 (MIKUNI) straight side draft with potential to tilt them more also a good spacing, I love these, a very good (admittedly) older carb:

Okay here are some sidedraught bike carbs with a different bore spacing but the long runners make the approach much more steady and efficient I guess. It's not crucial but it might help you decide on a set seeing as you are looking and haven't bought some already.

These are CVK, very old school carbs with a piston/round slide (BS34 had piston/round slide, but Keihins in that first pic I put up were Flat Slide).
