Well the spazda was picked up finally last night and I can finally afford to do something. Albeit get a battery and sort some brakes but it's a start.

Man Ebay buyers are cnuts. I asvertised the car as a rusted out wreck with more rust than I can handle and the winning bidder comes over, refuses to put his trailer in the driveway and procedes to inspect the car for half an hour before mumbling it's too much work for him. Then asks if anyone else was interested. He even brought his 10 year old son as a defence weapon. Needless to say (for those who know me) I waved my 'magic wand' and told him to pay for it, load it and fcuk off. Which he did so post haste. Now my driveway is free... Yay.

It's Alive!!!

A $30 second hand battery and some new terminals to match, followed by some cranking to get the oil pressure up, which didn't take long. Before I knew it she was running. Not bad considering shes been sitting for 3 years or more.

I found it funny that as soon as the battery was connected, I heard a grinding noise. I thought it might be the heater but as it turned out there is a cd player in the glove box that couldn't wait to vomit out a nsync cd. Lime it was saying '3 years I've had that sh!t in my mouth. Now get me some fcuking Iron Maiden pronto'!!

I had a look at Don's 1000 2 door sedan this afternoon. It would have to be one of the best unrestored and untouched 1000's I have seen for a long time. Totally original with a couple of very minor dents and a bit of paint fade. But, absolutely no rust anywhere. Well done Don, a great find. I am also looking for a 2 door sedan to add to my collection. Hoping to find one in as good a state as Don's.

I tidied up a few bits and pieces but that's about it for the rest of the weekend, on the plus side my wife washed the thou while Mopar and I pulled the head off the CR14DE to see what it's like on the inside, and on the inside it has a bent conrod. but thats cool. I'll deal with that later. For now I'll just keep tidying it up. A few more pics.







And not to mention the alledged CD incident...




I haven't looked under the steering wheel cover yet. I've never lied how they feel under the hand anyway, so I'll have a crack at redoing the leather bind or piss it off altogether.

the only rust seems surface rust on the handbrake shaft!

There's surface rust here and there on the body where paint has worn through but there's so far no structural rust.


Nothing to report this week, or next week most likely as dad is crook and I'll be spending time with the family this weekend.
