im currently collecting parts for my swap. and I see a few people with aftermarket turbo but i did not find any info on what exhuast manifold they use.

I can make one if needed but would rather buy one premade and save myself the headache seeing that a flange itself is like 60 plus piping its a good 80-90.

will the ebay top mount fit in a 1200? i want to run a t3 sc50. or a gt30.
so external wastegate.

anyone know of one?
im trying to keep the cost of turbo down to like less than 800 and power goal of 300-325whp. and prefered 15psi.

thanks

I'm running a gt2535 and its the biggest turbo u can run on the standard manifold. I can handle up to 20 psi and it's ball bearing.

Depends how serious your build is?!!

I went with a 6boost manifold, and as far as i know they are the best around, its top mount with external waste gate (turbosmart 48mm pro gate from memory) and a garret GT3076r turbo. whole lot cost me about 3400 delivered from kyle at 6boost.

Couldnt tell you how it run as the car is not finished yet, but getting close.

Since the goal is 15 psi, just use the stock manifold. It's good for 20 psi turbos.

Not as serious as you lol at a mere 300whp I dont plan to spend more than 1k on a turbo and manifold maybe 1200 max with turbo/manifold/wastegate. ideally i want to be bellow 1k. which is why i was looking at ebay tubular and set it up with a sc50 or something. While I like the idea of ball bearing ill stick to journal just incase i need to rebuild it in the future.

well I was hoping to get a t3 or MAYBE t4(but maybe to big for ca) for more flow. I dont think hybrid fits into stock manifold.

and goal isnt 15psi goal is 300whp. but i prefer to stay around that boost vs 20+psi. If theres a turbo capable of that power that bolts to stock manifold please let me know. I search around and majority jump to gt28 or gt30.

People get 300hp with a t28 with standard manifold. Just get a t28 do your Injectors a decent tune and bump the boost up to 15 pound.

I'm assuming that's crank? Not wheel hp?

The reason I ask is because from my search a lot of peoplesay yes you can get t28 to get 300whp but that's on it's max output. Around 18+ psi not 15.(I'm getting my info from nicoclub and 240sx)

I don't feel like driving a turbo that's a ticking timebomb then I'll end up buying another then another when I can get one that maybe works at it's 90% range vs 100% it will be cheaper on the long run.

I'm thinking maybe a custom mount might be the way to go, and bottom mount is sounding good to.

I mean if you know of one that's able to get 300whp with t28 please sen me his link so I can copy it. (this is ofcourse with stock engine) (if engine has work done besides head gasket then it's a different ball game)

Hi all, how are people getting 300hp out of a t28 on a ca. Is there some thing I have over looked. I just put a new 2871r on mine with injectors fuel pump and tuned by a reputable tuner and even running 18 psi only managed 205hpaw. So I think you will need a bigger turbo then a t28, so just don't want you to have the same unrealistic expectations I had of a small frame turbo. If you want 300hp go bigger.

Did you really only get 205whp? That seems extremely low for that turbo at 18psi.

Are you sure you have all the supporting mods and not have a bottleneck of some sort?

If so then perhaps it's time to switch tuner.

Here's a dyno page from nico that has peoples numbers and mods. Some guy is on there with t25 making 190whp at 15psi iirc.

Perhaps your missing something.
