Why do you have to run a standard intercooler???? WTF?????

I'd like to know why you engineeer wants you to have a standard intercooler.

I can't see how the intercooler is an issue. With all the engineering I have gone through on my 1974 1200 coupe, the only issue with the intercooler fitment was that it was "pedestrian friendly"

Yeah I know every 1200 ive seen with a ca has a fmic but because mines a 79 he reckons that a front mout will alter emisssions too much which seems like b.s too me.But im talking to a new engineer tomorrow that I know has enginered a 81 1200 ute with a fj20 turbo with fmic and microtech computer so hopefully il be able to get mine on the road sooner rather than later

Let me know how you go with your new engineer. I've searched my house but can't find the name of the place in Carrum Downs. I also had a phone number for an Engineer in Mill Park (Geoff Watters?) but thats gone missing too. Must be the missus trying to tell me something. I've got a very small FMIC and a Microtech MT8 that I intend running. Although I was thinking of dummying in the original computer and hiding the MT8 up under the dash. How far progressed is your project ute??

I don't see how an intercooler could modify emmisions?? To my understanding, a bigger/more efficient intercooler would lower intake charge themp therefore giving a cleaner burn???? Am I right in thinking or should I just shut my mouth???

Mmmm! Well I'll cross Jeff off my list. He was recommended to me by Rai from Farbraications in Braeside. Rai is a bit of a Datsun nut so I thought Jeff may have a soft spot for them too. Anyway have you had any luck. You've got me worried now.
I just bought a set of 180SX calipers and rotors for mine on friday, but still a long way to go. Give me a call I'd love to discuss your project (9886-2016)

yeah demojob ur probly right but, to n engineer a more efficient i.c will give more power, and they are usually all about having the standard engine so upgrading the power is not allowed.
