So,
All the speeding i do has finally caught up with me so now i lose my license for 3 months starting from the 15th August 2012 - 15 November 2012.
In this time i am hoping to bring my 120y up to scratch and get her looking her best.
This is my first car and i've owned to for 2 years now and have been driving it daily for a bit over a year. i have been modifying as i go but now i finally have a chance to give it a bit more of a go.

Currently :

Engine - a12 with 32/36 weber and crane-cams xr3000 electronic igntion.
Driveline - 56a 4 speed gearbox and bw68 differential.
Exhaust - Stewart Wilkinson 4-2-1 extractors with 2 inch pipe and high-flow muffler.
Wheels/Tyre: SSR MK3 14x7 +4 with 155/55 r14 Federals.
Suspension: 120Y Strut Shortened with a coilover sleeve and 8kg spring with a mk1 VW Golf Shock Absorber insert, s13 camber tops.

Going to be putting a worked a15 with twin side-draught 45 dcoe webers into the old girl which is currently being built by Ernie ATE Race Engines and a 60a 5 speed dogleg gearbox.

This is what it looked like the day i bought it.
I was a real fan of the 16 inch starcorps which i still have and are for sale if anyone wants them. But i've decided to take a different path and have gone for a more nostalgic japanese look. Picked here up in Glebe for a bargain of $1500 with 6 months rego, so i was very excited about the whole thing.

Late last year i had the interior re-done in cream vinyl, and new carpet added as the horse-hair cushioning made a nice mess of the original carpeting. Removed all the horse-hair, re-cushioned the seats, and had the upholsterer follow the original pattern and i was really happy witht he way it came out, and i know that cream interior may not be seen as *jdm* but it goes well with the light blue paint and i found a picture of a 120y with standard beige interior so it sort of saved me a bit there lol.

i was thinking the same thing haha. Got started on it straight away, ripped the engine and gearbox out and cut the extractors off as they need to be match ported to my new engine so they will be given to Ernie.

That is my real goal in the end, but i guess 3 months will give me a bit of time to think about it all :)

So they dismantling begun today.
Bolts in the bottom of the guards have all rusted and snapped as i tried to unbolt them. I guessed that this is a common thing?
