http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160708251572Is not quite legal but looks fairly 'low fuss' (compared to the more thickly gripped, non round f1 inspired wheels that are popular with some people these days) so probably wouldn't attract too much attention. I've got one myself. The 'spokes' are relatively flat, so they don't space it back further. the wheel itself is likely to be solid ceramic underneath, with grooves for fingers to wrap around, and it has then had a leather/vinyl cover stitched over it (just to warn anyone thinking the wheel is soft padded at all).
I used this hub to adapt it:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270868927296I had good experiences with both sellers, no dramas recommending them. The wheel itself isn't super strong, and I reckon I could snap it if I pushed hard enough (I am over 6 feet as well, sorta large build) so it won't last forever. You could probably alleviate it by getting a Y shaped bit of alloy and tig-welding it over the wheel/spokes to help strengthen it.
