That fronts not low... The lips just too big. Break it off some.

There's not much under a rotor so how too low?

Chuck an a series carb hat on there and will look stock as a rock almost. Make sure it says Nissan or Datsun

Yeah want to make a filter for it. The clutch and brake master are higher than the top of the carbie tho.

Ground clearance is fine, where exhaust passes gearbox cross member is a tad low but not a problem. The height issue is all about scrub and corners. I like corners but I haven't even put my wider rims on and I'm having to go slow at the roundabout.

Now I've done it...

I got a new gear box mount rubber and fixed the exhaust (was hitting body on bumps). Then being overly happy with everything I bought a new battery and salt/water belt... So what's next I say...

Check the plugs, little rich, carby float levels are high (above the windows), read somewhere that lowering them will lean the carby overall... big mistake.

First it wouldn't idle. Tried putting floats back to where they were, now it won't start.

Sad person right here. Now I'm back on the push bike.

Carb rebuild kit purchased and dyno tune with rotary pro organized. Should be good.

Am taking EOI's with the intention to sell in a few months. Love the ute but need to remove the temptation to modify when I start studying. If anything happens with it I won't have time to fix it and need cheap reliable transport to work.

Pulled carb apart today, found grit and dirt in bowls, blocked jets, cracked gaskets and a bolt too long that was lifting the air horn. Also learnt that I need to wire up a solenoid to get fuel to the secondaries. Stocked that there is obvious reasons for the current issues.

After finding blocked jets, dirt and cracked gaskets the carbie rebuild still didn't fix the problem. Turned out to be a combination of ignition power supply, immobiliser and butterflies too closed.

Running awesome now. Very happy.

Still want to redo some wiring, mount a tacho and try to rig up the rx7 speedo cable to the datto dash. Also want to get a dyno run/tune to make sure its as good/safe as it can be and then the wife gets to make some carpet and door cards... if I'm lucky.
