Hi my thrust race is starting to get noisy so I figured it's time to do the clutch at the same time.

I was just wondering if anyone knew who sells a clutch kit to suit the conversion as I have an a12 with a t50 behind it originally from dellow I believe

I know the clutch plate is toyota, the thrust race is a modified datsun if i remember correctly? and the pressure plate is datsun?

Just wondering if anyone knew where to get a suitable kit or could point me in the right direction?

Also does anyone have any recommendations as to a suggestion to machine the flywheel to make sure it all marries up nicely around sydney?

Cheers,
Tom

Hi, I don't think you can get an off the shelf clutch plate for that setup unless you go to dellow. Try the guys at western clutches at st Mary's, they are clutch specialists and know their stuff.

From memory its the celica thrust bearing and all Datsun clutch. But the clutch plate you get from dellow as they supply the Datsun plate with the spline changed to suit celica input shaft. A quick call to fellow to confirm is definitely best

It's a Datsun thrust bearing on a machined celica carrier. Then datsun clutch/pressure plate with celica splines. Best thing I ever did what just have the datsun flywheel drilled to suit the 200mm celica pressure plate. Now its just all off the shelf toyota with much better clamping force than the other setup.

Why not use a standard off-the-shelf 180mm clutch disk for the toyoda T50 transmission? It is 21-spline.

Edit: Exedy TYD023U is 180mm, 21-teeth spline, Spline OD 24.1
Starlet 1985-1994 some models, e.g. E2 engine.

Cheers DD,
not sure I was just trying to work out what I need to order as this is the first clutch I've done.
Cheers,
Tom

I also use a 200mm Toyota clutch on a flywheel drilled to suit
But use the Datto bearing on the original (modified) carrier
It just presses off/on

cheers dattoman.. can you re-use the carrier with a new bearing?

Can anyone recommend someone in sydney to do the flywheel modification? got any part numbers for the 200mm clutch? and the rest of the kit?

Cheers,
Tom
