new Light socket

hey guys just bought a new light for my datsun 1200 which came with a new socket that didn't match the original just wondering where i can buy the female part to clip into it? then can cut the old one out and wire it to plug into this one

Is that for the light switch?

Looks like a late-model 1200 connector. Original 1200 did not use that connector. But it should still plug in, just without the locking tab. No worries.

Just cut the new one out and rewire the socket from the old light.

I'm assuming your pic is of a 1200 ute taillight.

I had this problem awhile ago. Best to do what Datute1 suggests....cut the plugs off your old taillights and graft them onto your new lights. Or if your old light frames are in reasonable condition just swap the lenses over.

The repro lights I bought had small gaps around the lenses, but when I put those lenses in the original Datsun housings they sealed up fine ( indicating that the repro housings are badly
made).

It's a pain when you buy something that should be plug and play and you have to butcher it to fit
