Well finally i got myself a 1973 sedan (last year :P), my favorite car ever. the story of the car starts with an ute that i used to have as you can see in my pictures i used to love it but it was very unconfortable for my back. one day i saw the car near to my new house (2009) and went to talk to the owner, it was the son of the first owner of the car, he told me that he didnt want to sell it cause he had lots of memories with it and a passional love to the car but the car was almost abandoned in that parking lot, it didnt start cause of a batery failure by 2012 it had almost 8 years parked there and one day for my surprise the guy called me by phone telling me he was going to sell the car (i was like a friend to him by then cause i went a lot to his house to tell him that i wanted the car) i didnt have the money by then cause i bought an s13 with the money that i got from selling my ute but i told him to give me 3 days and that was it i got the car! i couldnt be more happy this was in april-10-2012 almost a year now.

I didnt post it here before cause i was very busy doing some modifications to the car and getting parts for it and i'm very busy at the moment but i need some answers for some questions i have. the car had 150psi on every cylinder it ran awesome, i got 5 lug brake conversion for my s13 so i decided to go 4 wheels s13 brakes and s13 master cylinder on my datsun also a brake booster from toyota starlet, made the strut insert swap for shorter ones and got some camber plates and new bushings all around too, i'm working on the rear by now (new shorter shocks, bushings and reseting the leaf pack)

Like a week now it went from an awesome running engine to a crappy running engine, i thought it was the carburator but not. decided to disarm the engine and find that all the compresion rings were smashed like potatoes

Now i want a better engine but i want to keep the original block on the car, i have an h89 head lying around, doble valve springs and the facilities to bore the block, i want 78mm flattop pistons on standard stroke, will make a header and i will go with twin webers

1- I need you guys to tell me which pistons can i use (remember 78mm and flattop)? (best option for me is that they came from another car doesnt matter the brand)
2- how to get high rpm?
3- a recommended size for the headers and the entire exhaust
4- what muffler should i use (silent one)?
5- what type of oil should i use?
6- what type of fuel pump for twin webers should i use?
7- what camshaft is better for what i want?
8- how much for a camshaft shipped to usa? (DD if you have one, please help me with it :P remember front mount dizzy)
9-car will go very low, would i need to cut or remove the differential torque arrester?

I will be working on the mechanical part first then will go for the chassis repair and paint.

I owe you guys lots of pictures will update as soon as i can, darren wilson car is one of my inspirations love it mate :)

emmanuel.

Great story bro.

I like how you replaced that plastic ute grille with an original stainless sedan grille. Like the DX fender mirrors. Like the Star Sharks. Like the big brakes.

The popular swap is Subaru Justy Piston Swap -but thatisfor A15

For A12, 78mm is too big I think.

Great To See you start the thread about your Sedan,I like everything you did to it Especially the Big Brakes!
For exhaust-I would go 1 1/2 inch Primaries then 2'' then come out to 1 3/4 Pipe With a semi flow Barrel,Great sound, like a suburu haha .If you like u could check out my thread for some pics http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=440599#forumpost440599
I think the stock fuel pump is good for twins.

Not easy to find. Weber seems to be all out.

For a good camshaft use Nissan 13001-H6200, good for peak power at 6000 rpm. Works great with Weber DCOE 40.

DCOE is best. It's fully tunable. The 32/36 is not, but has fixed venturis. But it works OK.

A good A12 early style cam?

For 6000 rpm peak power, the stock cam is very good.

If you don't want to rev that high, order a custom cam, ask for a "mild" cam and tell them the Rpm range you desire. Iskenderian out of California charges about $100.
