Hey guys! Heck yes it is Friday! And if your in the north of QLD like me your sitting waiting for a cyclone to hit landfall!! Haha

Ok so I have put this post up because I would like to get your opinions on my project.
I know a lot of you are against the whole modifiying datsuns from their stock appearance but I'm all about mixing the new and old skool together.
Now where I have come UN stuck is with my custom floor rebuild.
I have rebuilt my chassis in full so it now runs front to back in one piece. No mono chassis bullshit anymore.
So option one is to cut the floor out and weld a new sheet metal floor about 4 inches higher over the chassis rails leaving them exposed under the car.
Option two is cut the floor out, weld a new flat floor in and run the rails through the cabin and then make a false floor over the top of them to hide them in the cab.

Option two is obviously a bit more time consuming and annoying but I do like the idea of a totally flat under side. Option one is a lil less neat but would still look pretty good.

As I said love to get some peoples options :)

Ps this truck is being built as a fun toy and show pony. It will never see the road ;) just incase anyone was wondering haha

I think option 2 would be the way to go with the flat bottom floor being more visually appealing instead of having the chassis rails shown.

Yeah good, I've ran into a quite a few problems so I'll have to get those sorted later. mainly rust issues and I don't have the tools or equippent either to deal with it at the moment :/

Are you saying you have put an old-school full frame chassis under your 1200 ute? Got photos?

I have notched the orginal rear chassis clip and then welded new rails from the rear wall all the way to the front end.
I have only got a pic of the notched rear clip. I'll throw that up now.

Oic. So it is still unibody monocoque, but now has stronger rails notched for extreme lowering.

Kind of. The bottom rail of the rear section has had 75 x 50 bar welded onto the end of it and run through the newly constructed rear cab wall. We are in the process of raising them higher and narrowing them closer than the original rails in the front so I can run double wishbone airbag suspension using 18 inch wheels ;)
