Andy, the Z car club of Austin is having a meet this next Saturday, the 20th and they have opened the door to other Datsuns too. It is going to be at the Nissan dealer in Round Rock just
north of Austin. I'm bringing two of my 1200s to the show including my NAPS Z powered Chickenhawk. Come on up, it's only about 100 miles north of San Antonio I believe. I'd like to meet
more 1200 nuts so anyone else in the Texas area come on down. Let's overrun the Z car and 510 guys. He he he!

Below is info on the Texas Datsun meet. You might want to go. I've seen
pictures of a yellow and black 1200 from Texas with a KA motor. The
block
on a KA is about the SAME length as a L or Naps-Z motor (the heads and
blocks can interchange) but some of the accessories may stick off the
front
more. The truck tranny is also a little shorter w/ the same gearing, but
the motors aren't as good as a 240sx ones.

Not to nit pick, but that yellow and black car has a NAPS Z in it. I'll be bringing it to Round Rock this weekend. Looking forward to
seeing everyone's stuff.

I got the pistons from O'Reilly Auto Parts here in San Antonio. They are Federal Mogul Sterling series I think the part number is 12182P I bought this same exact type of
piston in Washington state at Schucks Auto Supply for about the same price ($20/each). Good luck

I'll see what I can do. The engine is still in pieces but I finally got the parts I ordered. It turns out all this time I was waiting was wasted, they didn't have ARP Rod bolts for the A-15
and he didn't decide to tell me this in person but rather, in the order he wrote that they didn't have them. However I did get ARP main studs/bolts and some heavy duty chrome-moly pushrods.
The pushrods are really nice and lightweight too, we'll see how good they really are! I anticipate having the car finished by Thursday I hope, so it should be feasible to come to the car
show on Saturday. What time does it go to/from, does it cost anything, and what is the address or name of the Nissan Dealer? I really would like to come, but I'll have to spend a good
amount of time cleaning her up cause she's been sitting for three weeks! Any other 1200 guys going??? Well, hope to see you there!

I have used small block Chev rod bolts from ARP in my A series race motors. The holes will
need enlarging slightly.

Tim,

I tried the website sponsoring the Texas Datsun car show this Saturday, but none of the registration form links are working. In addition, there are no email addresses listed to
contact them and let them know I'm coming. It didn't say on the website, but is there a registration fee also? I gotta go polish/clean now so I'll check back tomorrow...maybe you
could register for me?
