Hi Guys,
I have about a week until my project 1200 ute needs to be shipped to Melbourne as a surprise birthday gift for the old man. (I will post pics once I download them from my camera)
I pulled the engine out (Stock A12) for a respray and put it back in, but it seems to run lumpy with no throttle response. It was running fine prior to pulling it out.
The timing appears ok, but I suspect it's partly due to the coil/resistor wiring, which is a pain in the ass.
If there are any specialists out there who are confident they can fix the problem and come come to Regents Park (Sydney), I will compensate you for your time in cash or alcohol.
Feel free to message me for my phone number. Thanks!

If you suspect it's the coil/resistor wiring, there is an easy test. Jump a wire from BAT+ to coil+ after starting the engine. Test drive it. If the problem goes away its the wiring. Don't leave it attached more than 3 minutes.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
The engine runs, but it's a bit lumpy when the timing is at 5-7 degrees. When it's at 20 degrees it idles ok, but very high.
Engine ground is connected, as is all wiring. Engine was running fine and car drove nice prior to pulling the engine out.
At almost any RPM, there's no throttle response - it only increases RPM if you hold it down, then it takes a while for RPM to come down again.
Needless to say, I'm not a mechanic, so I'm surprised I could pull the engine out and put it back in and even get it to start.
I have tried all sorts of trial and error with the ignition wiring, but if I play too much I fear I may break something.
If there's someone in Sydney that is kind enough to help, that would be awesome. Otherwise I need to have it put on a truck and taken to a mechanic on Monday. I had Ultratune come around and as nice as the guy was, he couldn't really help diagnose the actual problem.
