Hi
I'm planning on doing a drum/disk conversion on my nissan sunny ute 89 model With a h165 diff Its has already had the front disk conversion with s13 brakes ....I've been doing some research on tech wiki an have found you can use the r31 set up can you also use r32 brakes as well ? If so how do they mount to the diff ? Is their an aftermarket bracket you can buy to use to fit the calipers ? And do you need to modify the rotors to fit ?

Thanks sean

The Australian-built R31 has different brakes than Japan R31.

Ahh ok well the majority of jap cars in New Zealand are imported because theirs no import tax, stamp duty ect .... The r32 brakes I'm looking at would be off a jap import ! Do you know if the r32 brakes similar to the r 31? They are a 4 stud rotor ...

The R32 rear brakes are unlike the Australian-built R31 rear brakes.

For other ideas, see Rear Disc Brakes

The brakes you are trying to fit are overkill.
I have a rear end fitted with 120Y fronts and it did the job fine,Look at the size of the rear brakes on the little shopping trolleys.
With the bigger brakes you would have to restrict the pressure as well

Sure, rear discs are overkill (stock drums stop fast when properly adjusted). But discs look so much better.

It's for engineering, I have decided to do the ca18det conversion ! I wouldn't bother with the a15 I'm running .....

On the other hand I'm limited to Aussie made r31 or 910 ... Which is all I know I can do with the rear disk conversion with, anything that is jap i have a better chance with in NZ . Now that I have a sunny ute a b122 being jap made will jap parts be more suited for my ute ? Or are they same as the Aussie made 1200 utes .... I can get my hands on jap made 910 rear disk set up ?

Will I need to change my m/c as well to suit the rear disk set up ? I'm not running a booster just a twin pot 11/16 m/c ...

If your engineer is requiring rear docs, ask him if he requires the matching master.

Rear discs dont need a new master, but then again rear discs won't stop any faster, so this is just a question of what your engineer wants
