LU84N Electramotive 04 7251

Electromotive was a prominent Datsun racing company which supplied cams to Datsun Competition

A-13-1 may indicate the 13th cam profile for the A-series race engine?

84 suggests 8400 rpm
* Nissan Competition 74 was 7400 rpm, 296°
* Nissan Competition 80 was 8000 rpm, 320°
* Nissan Competition 82 was 328°

Note that a stock A12 engine will rev to 8000 rpm if heavy valve springs are fitted. That's with the stock 248° cam.

Nissan Comp gave the normal RPMs, e.g. max HP at 8000 rpm with the 80 cam. With the stock A12 cam max HP is 6000 rpm, and far far less at 8000 rpm.

Crane Cams F270/3732-4 BH4525

F = Flat tappet (mechanical lifter)
270 = 270 degree at .050" lift
3732 = 0.3732 inch lift at cam (9.48 mm)

Compare to the Nissan Competition cams:
• 13001-H5700 256°, lift 8.4 [redline @ 6400 rpm, requires dual valve springs]
• 13001-H5710 280°, lift 9.4, normal RPM 7200, recommended for rallies

Definitely a FWD Engine with the deep Alloy Sump and those headers.

What a great piece of history having such an engine. It seems some of the highest performing A-series engines of that era were featured in FWD Datsuns.

Are you the person who has just downloaded my catalogues? Hope you enjoy them and they come into good use.
