Car is running now. Transmission took 7 1/2 quarts of fluid. Normal 9-10 but the torque converter is so small. Transbrake works but really didn't get to run it.
The exhaust needs to be hooked back up. So I trailered it done to the muffler shop.
They said they were swamped but would try and get it done. I'm one of there regular customers. They do all my aluminum welding.
Hopeful I have time tomorrow to tune it otherwise I'll be doing it at the track.
Other than that all I just need to do is get the carpet and seat in on the passenger side.
Ill post some pictures after I get the car back.

Love Hate relationship.
First run of the night was great at first.
Heated tires in the burnbox, staged at the lights, set the trans brake and launch off the line with a 125hp shot of wet Nitrous, no wheel spin, stayed close behind the '64 Nova with a big block, foot to floor and slammed it into Drive. And just before the finish line, I had a backfire and ceased up the supercharger.
So its shot. Someone said I may have had the Rev. Limiter set to low and that's what did it.
I had it set at 7800 rpms.
Well when I got home I set it to the max 9900 and got on EBay and found a used supercharger $375. Should be here by the end of the week. Other then that, I have to rebuild another section of the intake since I blew it out. My blow off valve obvious was not big enough so I'm building a bigger one.
Engine was not damaged through all this carnage.

Oh. Yeah my time. Still ran a 7.0 flat after coasting over the finish line with it under powered. I think I can pull a 6.0 when I get this thing figured out.

Why would shifting "too early" cause a backfire?

I never said I shifted to early. I shifted at over 8k. When the Rpms came down was when I had the back fire.

Sorry for my ignorance. How does a Rev Limiter set too low cause a backfire?
And how where you able to rev to more than 8000 with your limiter set to 7800?

Sorry Dave. Yes you are correct. I probably didn't rev over 7800 rpms. I just picked 8k as a number. The rev limiter will shut the ignition down and keep it from firing but I'm still pumping fuel and nitrous into the system. When the engine drops below the rev limiter it fires and that's when you get the backfire. Couple of guys at the track told me that that's what happened. They told me to get rid of the rev limiter.
