Good purchase. Top up every 3 months is a very small leak so with a new rocker cover gasket she'll be right.

yep, top up every 3 months is very minor

black smoke is too much fuel, you will need to try to work out why, but the idle is controlled independently to the rest of the revs, so if idle is ok and rest blows black smoke it may just need the mixture screw tuned, but if the carby was never jetted to suit the a15 then it may need re-jetting

gear stick slop is almost definitely two little plastic bushes on the bottom of the stick, they brak up and disappear, putting new ones in is a 5 minute job

Cheers DD I'll have to keep an eye on it
Well I did the rocket cover gasket this arvo
Man that was so tight that the cork gasket was basically
Turned into compressed fibro haha couldnt even get it of with a
Flat head screw driver had to use the stanly and cut it off :/

Also fixed the gbox slop with 2 SS washers either side and
some rubber hose about 10mm long that sits inside the gear stick hole
At the bottom And hugs the holding pin nice and tight now

Yeah rally pretty sure when the second barrel on the carb opens up
Is when it bellos smoke maybe never jetted

I have twin 40 fajs? Side daft Copy webers? on red line manifold
For a oval port head mine is a h89
Carbs were of a running worked a15
Would they be worth slapping on? Or rubbish?, Also have extractors too

Best thing to do in my opinion is to put a smaller jet in the secondary side. This is the larger of the 2 jets in the fuel bowl, or the one on the right. It should have a size marking, like 135 or 140 on it. Jets for DGV webers are available from at least 4 sellers on Ebay, or Carburettor Services in Burwood Sydney on 02) 9747 4066 during the week. They can probably give you a baseline to start from. I've driven A series engines with little webers for years, the present one is a 28/30 DGV on an A12 in a Sunny wagon, I get 6 to 7 days running on one tank, with plenty of power & throttle response.

As for the loose gear lever, look at this Ebay ad.

Cheers gx I may have to have a look on the weekend
As for the #OOPS#er bush I have already payed for them
Haha now I have to undo my dodgy crap :/

We'll did a service on the motor yesterday
Changed filter and oil to penrite HPR 30 20w-60
Now I'm getting a slapping noise from bottom end?
It's not a knock almost sounds like slapping water softly :/
Lol only thing I can think of sorry👍
Oil level is fine, can only hear it on idel tho when revving it goes away,
Also now has white smoke coming out of the tail pipe along with
Black water? On idle >:( better be just a head gasket or ima fix it with a hammer!.

I hope gg :/ no milky oil/oil in water?
did a compression test today tho my battery was dieing
Facing the motor from the front of the car
Starting at 1 to 4 fire wall
No. 1 170psi
No. 2 165psi
No. 3 170psi
No. 4 134psi but battery in car was dieing?
Charging battery and try again tomorrow
Plz tell Me this is a value plzzzz? Pretty please?

Since I did a oil change it's now blowing blue ish smoke from idle to revving
Think it may of had the old additive trick in the oil
Still no milky oil nor oil in water
If there is anyone near the Wollongong nsw region that could pop in, to help I would gladly
Pay for your time?

Bluish white smoke comes from burning oil.

Potential causes:
* sump over filled. Sump takes only 3 quarts.
* oil control rings failing.
* worn compression rings
* if it only occurs after starting, it is the valve guide seals

See Smoke Tests
