Hi Everyone,

I have a favor to ask of my fellow 1200 Coupe owners. I am in the process of getting all the missing bits and pieces for my coupe (which is pretty much everything bar the shell and even then half of that is rust) and I am up to the seat belts. Now a company called APV, they supply REPCO with their aftermarket seat belts, makes belts in all shapes and sizes. The information I need is how my front belts are mounted top and bottom (bolted top and bottom or drop link), how the rear belts are mounted (are they 3 point or just lap sash) and the length of the buckles from the center of the bolt hole. I couldn't find the information I needed in the seat belt tech section.

If anyone could send me photos or lengths of the buckles than that would help me out a lot.

Also when I get the part numbers and ensure the belts actually fit i will share them with everyone making getting new belts easy for everyone.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

For what its worth I used VW polo rear inertia seat belts in my Coupe.
Length correct , orientation of the inertia reel correct , plenty of mint condition ones at the wreckers . Got matching longer stems easy too.

Thanks heaps. Have you got any photos of them installed, not really sure where the mounting points are. are your rear belts 3 point or just lap sash?

Awesome thanks a lot. The rear ones look like they bolt towards the back of the seat? Are the buckles on the floor under the seat?

These are the backseat inertia reels from a Polo used as front seat belts for the Coupe .
Ive left the Coupe back seats standard as they were still in ok condition having had little use over the years.
Hope this helps

Fronts; I didn't use the original top holes - I added an engineer approved backing plate into the pillar and mounted the top there.

Rears; I put new lap sash ones in as per stock - but due to Ca18 engineer wanted all "outward' belts as retractable.

I used the ones from Repco

I've never seen a top mount there on a coupe -- is it stock? Seems like it's too high for a lap belt, and too low for a shoulder belt.

I have bolt holes in the same position as the one above where the pivot and the anchor point go on. However I cant tell where the re tractor bolts too. My car just has one big open hole.

my coupes have all had non-retractable with the high mount being the same as the photo above

i added retractable using aftermarket units and some mounting plates from a little kit the auto shop sold also. I drilled my own holes for mounting the retractor unit in the position as per the photo
