Just going to rego it with standard a12 then swap engine later. If I get pinged will put the stocker back in no turbo for the wagon now either.

thats the beauty about an A14 crank and 76mm slugs in an A12, no one knows

Dodgemans stroked and bored A12 did 300K Km without issues and supposedly with slightly more torque than stock due to reduced rod stroke ratio

Cheaper to get an engineers cert and be legal than build a a12 into an a14

Still have to rebuild and old A14 or A15 and purchase one if not yet done
usually go for 500-750 just for engine and new pistons as not as strong
as thicker beefier A12 rings and pistons and most a bit old by now.

A12 hybrid A14 capacity
-bush A12 rods for A15 pistons, Mazda or gemini 76-77mm pistons.
Usually good to buy new pistons, machine and balance A14 crank,
bore & hone then assemble with new seals/bearings. Still pretty basic.

A14 crank $80-100 machine and balance 220-250
bush rods for larger pins $100-120
Stock A12 free

At worst just stock A12 with simple turbo that is easy to remove

that been the case for 4 hundred wombats you should engineer for A16 :)

At worst get bare A14 block for $80-200, e16i crank 200NZD,
E15et local rods $40 shortened to 133mm, gemini 78mm pistons
milled .5mm for 27mm comp height and you get 1682cc for torque.
