I managed to get a few laps in at Barabagallo yesterday (about 50 laps). Car was only running ~10psi boost, half throttle and around 4k max rpm to put some kms on the new engine before the dyno tune.
Was good to be back out on the track again. Was running about 10 sec off my normal pace but the engine felt strong, hard to tell about lag as I wasn't really loading it up. Still haven't put the LSD centre in so when I pushed a bit still open wheeled. Do have some footage, don't think I'll upload it, it looks pretty pedestrian at that pace.

No more track time yet, but on the good side car goes in for a tune on Monday.
Waited for over 4 months to get into another tuner, so gave up.
Just put some dyno tyres on it today, will keep you posted with the results. Looking forward to the season this year, racing starts in March.

What are you thinking of running? the Bluebird?
We are having our yearly audit of all the IP cars on the 2 Mar from 5pm at Big Rock Toyota (Come around the back where the workshop entrance is). Great opportunity to see all the cars and meet some of the drivers.

Car is in at the Dyno this week. Had some initial drama's that hopefully are now sorted.
He was doing a couple of runs and noticed the oil warning light come on so stopped and had a look.
The car had evacuated all its engine oil over the dyno (nearly 5ltrs). He seemed to think it was coming from the turbo.
He also mentioned that when i was playing with the CAM timing that one of the bolts was missing and the others were loose. WTF.
By this stage all I could see was $$$ for repair and wondered WTF had gone wrong.
So I rushed down there to see what had happened and found that the oil return line from the cooler had come loose and this was the cause of the leak. The fan has migrated the oil all over the engine bay so hard to see where it was coming from.
I checked the log file and noticed that the oil pressure looked ok during the runs and he said he noticed the warning light at idle. Lucky for me I had the warning table set quite high to stop before there was any damage.

As for the cam gear, I don't know what happened there. The cam timing cover was cut away so the bolt has at least vacated the area and isn't rattling around the timing belt. I noticed the CAS had rotated as well and can't remember if that was after I set the timing so am getting him to re-set the timing.

So the tune is not yet completed. Car is currently making about the same peak power but stays there longer in the top end (No power taper). It's a bit hard to compare with last dyno tune (Different Dynos brands, differnt tyre sizes and different diff ratio). At the moment she holds full boost to redline too, so i think the wastegate pipe changes are working to reduce manifold backpressure. Power still comes on around 4k and I honestly I don't think he as leaned on it too much yet and we should see more when i gets back on the dyno shortly.

At this stage I am a little dissappointed that the increase compression ratio didn't have a great effect on the overall numbers. I think the proof will be on the track. I will keep you posted when I know more.

Car was dyno'd this afternoon. Numbers are good, about what I expected given the mods and far better then the part tune the other day. Torque and usable rev range is also very nice.
I put an old set of A050's on the rear for the runs, which was a bad move, those things chew power. First to last run was nearly 40hp difference due to the sticky tyres, they probably robbed me about 10kw on top of the final figure. I guess that only makes it stronger then the numbers suggest.
Happy with the results. Looks like I have a dead alternator too.
She comes home tomorrow but not before I send the KAAZ LSD off to get ramp angles changed.
Really looking forward to seeing how the changes effect the car on the track.
