Can anyone show me how to connect the main harness on the dash to the rear harness for the rear lights, license plate lights, etc... on a 1200 ute?

I know there is a flat looking section of wiring that is hidden under the carpet but where does it connect to? I assume it is concealed in the body behind the cabin?

Thanks.

The flat wire is part of the Body Harness

* 24013 Instrument Harness (dashboard)
* 24014 Body Harness: goes from firewall to rear of car, under floor mat
* 24015 Tail Harness (rear lights)

The rear harness comes in near the bottom seat belt mount on the Drivers side (RH Drive). There should be a rubber grommet with a connector coming through it. This should plug into the flat multi-cable you mentioned, which is normally stuck down to the floor and heads to the main harness.

Yes, the flat wire (Body Harness) has only three connections:
* To Instrument Harness
* To Rear Harness
* To Room Lamp harness

The front corner is where Body and Engine harnesses plug into the Instrument (not shown in photo) harness. LHD photo (reverse for RHD)

The main harness is the Instrument harness, no? Rear harness is called by Datsun "Tail Harness"

What connects the two is the flat-wire Body Harness

This photo shows where the Instrument Harness connects to the Body Harness (yellow arrow goes to Body Harness I believe for the mid-model ute)
