1972 Datsun 1200 Electric Conversion

Exterior
Paint and body are in good condition with no damage found to body and only a few minor scratches in the paint.

Interior
Interior is also in nice condition and is mostly original minus all of the additional meters for the electric conversion.

Mechanical
This Datsun has been on display at the museum for a number of years and is no longer in operating condition. Brakes are also no longer working.

Converted in 1978, with 12,435 miles since conversion, this is a unique, early example of a converted electric vehicle. While not in running condition the workmanship is impressive along with the history of the car participating in various events. This Datsun was also featured in the 1979 October issue of Popular Mechanics along with other publications in the bay area.

He beat me by a 100.00 dollars on ebay couple of month ago. Wonder how much is he asking.
My guess, he try to get get back to gas and it maybe not worth the spend.

A shame! I would have thought that sedan was worth $7,500-10,000, it's the cleanest rust free example that I have seen in over 10 years. The electric system alone is worth $5000 used, it is a modern advanced system must have been one of the first

The drivetrain is nearly same as Blue Meanie which is tire-frying 1000 amps, and this one is 500 amps

It was inducted into the California Auto Museum in 1989, and the Museum sold in 2016, very sad

Well that was my max bid on Ebay, You really don't know the max bid the bidder is willing to do.
I am in Florida so that would be another 1000.00 to 1200.00 at best to get it to the east cost.
I thought exactly the same thing about the condition DD.
Do You guys find out what they are asking for?
Another thing was that the ID tag was remove and that really make me nervous.
