There's no twin Su for A engine in my country. Only came in L engines like SSS bluebird and 160j. But most of the owners those days change it to down drought single carburetor. I dont know why.
I import the twin Su manifold for my a15 after read about the uniqueness and I'm enjoying it every time I drive.

I am sure I will have fun with the a12 even with out boost. I am not attempting to build a D1 car just a sunny to skid in the wet.

I would just use the gx carbs but I don't have them, engine came with no manifolds or carberation.
What price do reconditioned GX carbs go for?Quote:

then the finished product ready for tuning posted to you

They are famous in lotus 7 replica and all custom car circles

otherwise Sykine does similar units if hes not flatter than flat out
but they take alot of labour to get right so be prepared for 400 min
yet you can have cheap carbs that sound awesome

I made them back in the 90s using a mig, they were rough outside
but used cheap dremels to get them right on the inside and they
went like the clappers once a bike tuner got hold of them.
The length was important for the street and to clear good headers.
The longest ones 18-20cm made the most torque and sounded awesome

I went from 34mm > 36mm > 38mm back to 36mm for all round
street midrange as it helped the crazy mystery cam it had
It revved like a rotary and many people confused it for one.

they are preferred over injection for Japanese racing & street bikes
they are easier to setup with power throughout the range
equivalent to efi as they have their own unique multi-hole on
the tapered jets patented design which atomises fuel close
to efi in all modulations. Pure mech tech pricey but still analog!

I already have a bproject manifold to bolt side draughts.

Unless I can find good cheap gx carbs soon I will buy a pair of 40dcoe Italian made webers, they are only 800 on ebay

40 DCOM - Some online sellers claim that these are the "latest" design from Weber. Quite simply, they will not work properly on any engine apart from the Alfa Romeo they were designed for. They are an emissions style carburettor and also use a completely different pump jet design. In fact they use a diaphragm for the pump circuit similar to that used on the Dellorto carburettor. Having attempted and spoken with numerous customers, you may obtain the 40 DCOM carburettor cheap, but you will spend three times more trying to get it to even resemble working.

Late model 40 DCOE carburettor - Late model Alfa Romeo 40 DCOE carburettors are similar to the 40 DCOM in that they are an emissions style carburettor. There are many large progression holes and the emulsion tubes used are very specifc in that they are covered in holes. Many have attempted to tune these to vehicles other than Alfa Romeos with little success.But after reading this now I don't think the ones I have been looking at on eBay are any good.

Yes, I wouldn't get a Alfa-jetted version, but generically tuned ones like Redline Weber sells work well on Datsuns

Ive heard many say the same things about Weber's DCOE line of carburetors. And even some that say SUs are hard to tune; go out of tune, etc. Especially companies that sell the more expensive carburetors keep repeating that. Some say Dellorto are much easier to tune

The Weber DCOE is a very old design, so people are more familiar with the old and you can find an expert in every community, and a lot of folks who aren't familiar with the Weber DCOM. The 1970 SU-type carbs were emission-style too, but run very well and are easy to tune according to most who use them

Nissan guys I've talked to like DCOM

DD how about that the chinese carbs on that vw thread
the spanish ones are badly casted vs chinese ones from
what I remember and vw guys praise them.
Also OER40 from japan r a good option if made there

An adapter can be made to suit either SU or weber manifold
to take a bank of bike carbs as well.
you can split a pair of honda v twin carbs or a quad set
into 2 banks like for an old z1000 or similar quakka
