The only LED lights I have are in the dash cluster for L and R turn... Is this still the reason why?
If they turn signals light up but won't flash, yes that's probably the reason

I have LEDs throughout my dashboard. Turn signals/Flashers. They work fine. But of course I totally replaced my cluster and made my own. That really should not make a difference.

I'm more worried about the hood at the moment. I could try to beat the old one back in shape but a second hand one would be ideal. The hinges tore through part of the firewall too

* With high-load LED lights, the stock flasher unit works fine
* With low-power LED lights, the stock flasher unit fails to flash

Use a modern flasher unit (3-wire type)

My 1200 hood (bonnet) had a roof-dent in it for 10 years. Worked just fine. The hinges tore through the firewall, but still worked fine

The recall for was for the secondary latch (for if the hood was only partly closed). If it is completely closed, the latch works perfectly fine, regardless of whether it has the recall part or not

Also, are the dash lights meant to illuminate when depressing the brake pedal or is this a wiring problem?

No dash lamps should light when brake pedal is depressed. Causes
* brake system out of whack (BRAKE warning light)
Or
* wiring problem

CANADA/USA
Quote:
BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LAMP
If either half of the dual brake system fails, the brake warning light (BRAKE) glows when brakes are applied. You must stop the car immediately and if you can safely operate with two-wheel brakes, move your car at reduced speed to the nearest service station.

This warning light is also used as the parking brake warning light.

Hmm I will look into this. The dash lights definitely illuminate when I hit the brakes but not the "Brake System Warning Lamp"

Drove it to work today:

Which lights illuminate?

There are nine lights in the dash

If the metal tab at the bottom is not bolted down (earthed), weird things occur with the lights
