Hi Guys
As i had a idle problem in my carb ,i am in a need to replace it , i checked my b310 carb to b210 it works well so i think my b210 carburetor needs replacing now.
i got a carburator from friend of mine for free, i went and pulled it from the engine , it is a datsun engine from its upper cover i dont know what model is that engine, did not have time to check it becs it was late evening,
Carb Says AISAN and has casting no 2J20 and there is another id plate just fixed to the upper cover it says C28AB
bolt pattern is little wider than mine i need to to have a adapter of kind of thing to fix this , has anyboday used similer to this on their datsun ?
and do datsun have these kind of carbs ? in wich models ?
thanks regards sumith

Hi Guys
Just Learnt from another forum 2J20 means it is 1972 model j means it is manufactured on october month manufacture on 20th day
so it is clear this carb must have been a stock for a car which came between 1973 -1974

great, do you have a close image of the adapter to be fitted to the manifold because bolt pattern is little wider on this than a12 manifold i want to make something to fit it
thanks regards sumith

As I understand, there is no adapter. The particular model of Aisan carburetor is 23717 uses the same bolt pattern as the A12 Hitachi carburetor
It seems the Aisan you have is a different model?

Hi DD
For me it is like having a adapter because carb is little higher from manifold and i can see some nut and bolt between them, any way i need a adapter for mine, Strangely it was fixed on to a datsun engine its rocker cover almost the same to A12, it doid not have any adapter there, I was dissembling the carb to clean , there is no big deal straight forward unless one section of it , do you have any idea what this section for ,what it does ? please refer the images
thanks regards sumith

An old mechanics trick that often works with blocked up idle ports is to swap number 2 and 3 plug leads fire the engine up it will miss and backfire. Revving it a few times the backfiring often dislodges whatever is plugging the idle port and fixes the no idle or poor low speed running issues without going any further so is usually a first try method with any carburettor that on low capacity engines will always have very small idle ports that tend to block up.
Another thing to bear in mind is that at least in Australia our modern unleaded fuels have a very short fuel life before they turn to what is in reality nothing better than power kerosine so look into and use a fuel stabilizer if the vehicle is not in daily use or the fuel will go off and can even get to the extent a naked flame will not ignite it

Power Valve piston stuck in down position will make it run overly rich (except at full throttle, when it is supposed to be down)
