There are alot of factors to consider to judge which is
the best way to make these figures but just making a stab
but no cost accounted for installing running gear etc
maybe the A series crank snout would snap?

eg.
Full NA race A series can make 160ate at best awful
to drive on the street and have a short life.
Cost 7-12k aud including yearly rebuilds engine in/out etc
(quality close ratio box $3500-5k, good ratio & quality lsd
H165 1.2-2.5k aud + good cooling system cost ?)

Turbo mostly would have big lag to make 190-200kws ate
and would never give you the economy of this system.
200kw ate A15 prob costs similar to above NA in cost?
(stronger box conversion 71c or supra w59, T50 dont cut it
according to 4age guys 1.2-2k aud?, quality lsd diff 1.2-2k?
+ improved good cooling cost?)

Featured in vid 150kws 600lbs of torque from idle (no lag)
can run as is or assist the A series also charge at home
and has re-gen when using engine braking.
eg. healthy stock A12-A15 eg. 150kws + XXkws = 1XXkws ate.
At 5000 usd is this the best bang for bucks which also
keeps original A series looking relatively stock?
(very strong box w58 minimum or beefed up auto 1.5-2kaud?
H190 lsd differential or 8 inch strange 1.2k to 2.5kaud?)

There is also a mob doing a similar combo that
runs after your transmission for a stealth setup
Batteries are improving 8%-10% per year so this
setup will get lighter and cheaper with time.
Weight distribution can be modded for optimum 50/50 split
Other option is no A series so save $ if it needs a rebuild
or dont want to run a box and happy with 80-120km range
eg. minus 100-115kg A series + minus 20-35kg box
add the negated weight back on by battery pack.
75% of the developed world average 50-60km per day.
Tesla packs give 3 tonne Tesla p100 600 mile range
so in an datsun weighing less than a third of that is
something that is also very interesting.

Alternative.... is white zombie for sale :)

A rolling recharge system would be a great addition too. So some energy recovery could extend range of this mod.

I would love to try this on the A12

Matt I think thats possible like some electric trains have?
The guy said it had regen, I figured it was from engine breaking only
I dont see complicated brakes like a prius in their simple setup.
I still have doubts on the crank snout of an A series to support
the torque even a small 50kw electric motor which depending on
battery could make 250+ lbs of torque from idle.

I like the commercial one by a famous dc and ac motor supplier which
I cant find the link to atm but this will do its the same principle

lol all in one system 400kw setup minus batteries
Sitting at the rear of a datto should do skids at 1.4 seconds 0-100kmhr
and probably snap your neck if its not secured to your headrest!

The inline under tunnel version was along the line I was thinking.

I don't think the little cast crank would hold up well on front load, but who really knows until its done.

What a fun idea though!!

I agree under the tunnel after the box is stealth and simpler
Netgain had this idea and pattented their system way back
in 2006 and there have been heaps of copy cat companies
since using the same concept which Netgain coined EMIS
http://www.go-ev.com/p20070301_EMIS_Release.html

Interestingly there are 2 opposite concepts by GM in which
they have 2 different systems themselves and the first one
is using an electric motor/alternator which is like my first
vid of the Sema concept.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_4d9o8E8z4

Its a much smaller e motor running off the crank snout
for take offs and regen. Datto cranks are forged steel
but their snouts are not made for electric motor torque.

The second concept is very interesting and similar to toyota.
Its on an inline box but no gears? just 2 electric motors acting as
the drive/regen and variable speed gearing for the gas engine.
Well thats what I understood could be wrong but great idea.

While this unique fella is like you were thinking Matt but
only for freeway speeds very clever concept again.
I recommend everyone watch this its so well thought of
for those who want big trucks with economy and still be
able to power through with their gas engines for fun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLPR2-7-xpM

This small 30lbs motor the size of a large alternator
is a great upgrade and possible no probs for the forged
A series crank snout.
30Kw peak, 60lbs of torque and only 35lbs or 16kg in weight
