Good luck
I had to get some recently for of all things an outboard tilt/trim motor
Ended up getting some Hitachi power drill brushes from the local toolmart

What's the starter.. .ND or Hitachi ?

Could you call someone like a motor rewinder? They might know where you could get the right sized carbon brushes, you might have to alter the copper cable on it.

Or maybe something like this.

Hey Crumb - I saw those but that tiny cable would fry itself in seconds with the current.
I also saw some for a bosch unit the right size but the single cable came out the side instead of
two from the top

At work we deal with a carbon brush manufacturer but holy f..k - cheaper to get a whole new starter
Will keep looking

hahaha, yeah that wire isn't going to be there long. They appear to have them on Ebay.com but the postage is a killer.
