Door card removal and reinstallation

Here are some tips on remove the interior door panels

* Remove the parts that attach through the door panel

* Coupe only: unscrew the door lock pull knob

* Unscrew the DOOR PULL or ARM RESTS

* Unscrew the WINDOW WINDER
Open in new window


* Unscrew the ESCHUTCHEON behind the door handle

Now the door card is ready to be popped off. Note the clips that stick out of the door card (click for larger picture)

CLIPS
3 per door (front door sedan/wagon/ute)
4 per door (coupe)

clip locations (sedan/van/truck front door)

coupe extra clip (front edge of panel near the top)

using a table knife or putty knife, slip between card and door until a clip is located. then gently lift clip and panel out of door metal. The clip remains with the door card, but pulls out of the hole in the sheet metal

The round part stays in the sheet metal. You want to lift the clip out of the hole

Using a special-built upholstery tool will prevent breaking the panel around the panel clip
